great device. only one i know if that can handle 1080p MKV files AND pass DTS audio. Added advantage, it acts like a NAS for the storage you plug into it via USB. I have two so I can share content from my living room up to my media room... streams flawlessly.
The cheaper WD TV Live HD (about $60) and Plus (about $70) will to 1080p MKV,, 5.1 DTS and act like NAS for USB devices too. 100Mbps is sorta slow, but USB2 is slow too.
I think the only thing this model adds is build-in wifi and perhaps an internal HDD. A $11 USB dongle does that for the other WD devices.
The WD TV Live and Plus models have custom firmware, at http://wdlxtv.com/. Not so for this player yet, but I think this one has better blu-ray support.
Great device. I have one problem when I update the firmware it causes all the problems the update is supposed to fix, voice sync, won't play mkv etc.. So, I return everything to factory settings and it works fine but keeps telling me to update firmware. I tried this three times. So, my advice is if it works don't update.

Requirements:
Wireless network needed to enable wireless capability.
I'm glad they cleared that one up.
The built in wireless is a nice touch. Doesn't tie up one of the usb ports.
