Anybody else get a nonstop, constant stream of Bensbargains Deal Alerts for this product, even if they didn't sign up for it? I just unsubscribed from all e-mails due to this crap. Someone needs to fix the Deal Alerts!

Nope. Nice unit though. Plays just about anything you throw at it.

The WDTV Live is kind of like the Swiss Army Knife of media players in that it does a whole lot of stuff but there are specialized products that do some of them better. For example a Roku is a bit better internet video streamer but sucks as a network media player - something that the WDTV Live does pretty well. On the other hand a Netgear NeoTV550 is a better network media player but doesn't include a Netflix player - something included in the WD. The WDTV Live does it all reasonably well just like a Swiss Army Knife.

What's missing are DTS-HD Master Audio (Blu-Ray lossless audio) and 24bit audio.

Pretty much the every day price, not sure why it keeps showing up as a new bargain...

I have the previous version of this, but from mine I have to agree with number 1. Th WDTV is not the slickest, but it does it all. We have all of our movies saved as ISO files on a shared drive on the network. The WDTV plays them great. This new version has one of the two things that have been missing from mine, an IOS app. I keep mine in the basement. It is distributed throughout the house with a channelplus modulator. The only other missing feature is support for amazon video.
