The 1.5 Gb version of this one is better price per Gb at $99. That is the measure I always use when buying disk space, because the prices fall so fast.

Prices really haven't fallen that fast, in Dec 08 I got 1.5TB for $129.99, here it is 15 moths later and it's $99; dropped $2 a month? HDD manufacturers must be hitting some sort of technological threshold. Or maybe demand isn't that great.

I would buy based on $ per GB as long as I didn't need a specific capacity. Often, I need a certain amount for a project and even if a 1.5 is cheaper per gig, the project may still require 2 gb.
I currently have a 2 GB project going as much as I'd rather pay less for a smaller drive.

I agree with #3, I'm going to Europe soon and I want to put my entire DVD collection on a hard drive to save any problems! I might just squeeze them on a 2TB without any extras.
