I didn't even bother to check eCost -- they usually have outrageous shipping price. I only look at Buy.com, which at least have free shipping upfront in many cases.

It's a good unit at a good price, usually around $100 elsewhere.

Get an AppleTV and hack it. You'll get more features, support for more formats, better performance and a better UI. It even runs XBMC and Boxee.

get the philips dvd player that plays most any format through the usb port. it is the bargain solution, costing approx half of this for new.

But then you gotta burn everything you wanna watch. AND you have to factor in DVD prices over the life of the unit as well.

#8 Isn't the Philips DVD player only low def? This thing supports whatever resolution you throw at it...

The Phillips DVD player does sacrifice some quality and does not support all formats.

How do I know....I own it.
