Black levels are not there in this TV. Don't waste your money.

Agree with # 2. Saw these Westinghouses at Bestbuy, the black level was more like a faded gray then crip black. If you just have to spend $700 on a 42 inch LCD, buy the Dynex at Bestbuy. Might not be any better but at least its new.

Buying Westinghouse is pissing your money away. Mine has been in repair for 5 weeks now, no word it will be back to me in the next year. Filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, Cali AG, and charged it back with Amex. Lots o fun there.

I have the 47" version of this.... bought it at Best Buy one year ago... Seriously, this TV is wonderful! Never had one single problem wiht it... beautiful picture through Comcast (W/Tivo) HD service... and Xbox 360... True the black levels are not as good as some of the really pricey sets... but after a few tweaks of the settings, you can get this thing looking near as good as some of the other big name brand sets out there.. I have 4 friends with LCD's... all of which bought them within the last year... and they all seem to think mine looks better than thiers in most HD circumstances. Especially when I am watching full 1080P movies streamed through my Xbox 360.
Trust me... if you can get one of these at a good deal... you will not be dissapointed at all once you get it home and set it up right... if you can afford to buy something better, which there certainly are sets out there wiht better overall picture quality, then get it.... if your on a bit more of a budget... but want something very very descent, get one of these. One of my friends saw mine... then went out and bought the Vizio set of the same size and specs.... and even I think his looks almost crappy compared to my Westinghouse... and so you know... when I bought this I researched LCD's for 5 weeks before deciding to get this set... never looked back since! If I had $5,000.00 to blow on a tv... then I would prob buy something else, but at the time I got mine for $1050.00 with the Xbox 360 thrown in for only $99.00... for the money I paid... this TV is AMAZING!!!!
