I've heard good things about westinghouse but refurbished? Sounds like you are taking a big chance with something so large.

all depends on the warranty and what their standards are... number of pixels in the middle 1/3 of the screen, etc. before it becomes 'fixable' or 'replaceable'. verify that before buying. but yea, good price if it's not a pos.

Westinghouse USED to be a good name in televisions, but now they're junk.

Oh yeah, read some articles about 120Hz...interesting stuff! Worth looking at

inferno, you're unwillingness to provide a link shows that you are not awesome. I do not need to provide a link because my awesomeness is already well established.

my friend has 32" Westinghouse LCD TV and overall it is a good TV, but when TV gets overheated, the screen just freezes and you need to plug out the power cord~
it happens about twice a week... lol... anyway, he exchanged for another one but the new one is doing the same...

i would stay away from "Refurbished" one though...

i believe buy.com has the 42" for $550, which is a good deal imo.

i hear they are pretty good new for a while, but they degrade pretty quickly which explains the refurbs.

They are crap, you might as well be taking that money and throwing it in the trash. If it breaks you are screwed, their customer service is a joke.

I have this exact TV, but it new about 2 years ago and the only issue i've had with it is there is 1 dead pixel. Other than that, this TV is fantastic and hte picture is wonderful. It's not "crap" as some seem to think.

It's not the TV that's crap, it's the service. Mine broke in 30 days and Westinghouse won't ship it back, they have had it 60. I've filed complaints with the AG of CA, the BBB, the FTC, and American Express and they won't even reply to any of them!
