      Who in their right mind would buy a Westinghouse TV?

      my friend's "out of warranty" Westinghouse is a piece of rubbish:
      * stuck-on pixels
      * failed lines
      * the picture has degraded so that it looks like an old PC that's using only 256 colors, rather than the 16M+ it's supposed to be

      Avoid refurbished Tv's. Why?
      Because tv's are the most abused electronic items in any household. Most tv's have hundreds of hours on them by the time they are a month old- That is a FACT.
      Modern tv's are not as long lasting as those tube tv's - that is a FACT.
      No one knows how many hours would be left on a used/refurbished unit. The chances of landing on a like-new tv are pretty slim.
      Sure, the tv will look brand new, but which rodeo cowboy physically handles a tv once it's seated?

      Dude, even if new TV's don't last as long at older tubes who give a rat's ass. New TV's will still last around 50,000 hour. Even if the used TV has 500 hour on it, it's still only 1% of the TV's life. Let's see the trolls on this site watch about 8 hours of TV a day that's, 50,000 h /8 h= 6,250 days or 17 years at 8 hours a day. So a normal person with a life who watches only 2 hours a day will have the TV for 68 years. I guess you're right, what a bad investment.

      I got in on the sicko bestbuy deal (buy tv + home installation combo which drops price of 42in plasma down to 689 + install price, then cancel install and tv remains at that price) that was going on for a bit, I am not home but I believe it is a Samsung
