Buy.com has the Wii Dual Charge Station and Turbo Cooler for $20 + $5 shipping = $25 shipped. Includes two rechargeable battery packs customized for your Wii remote.
Be very careful of these 3rd party chargers. They can be fire hazards. Most are not even UL approved. There is currently only one Nintendo approved Wii battery charger and it's made under the Nintendo License by Sanyo, currently not sold in the US yet. The Sanyo charger will charge the Wii remote with the silicone jacket on and has a space for the wrist strap too.
Until this hits the US market I'll probably buy Alkalines. (or a seperate AA charger) You can buy a 48 pack of AA BJ's brand Alkalines at BJ's Wholesalers for $7.99. That's .17 cents per AA battery before tax.
...or $13.99 for a 36 pack of AA Duracell's from BJ's Wholesalers. Probably the same price or cheaper at Costco.
I used an aftermarket charger like this and it made my Wii stop working. You have to plug it in daisy chained from your Wii. I'm not sure why it made the Wii stop working but I had to borrow a Wii power cord from my neighbor and plug it into mine, then the Wii worked again. Switched back to my power cord and it worked again. That was a while ago but I think I found that fix in a forum somewhere. Basically it resets the power brick somehow when you attach a different one. I would not recommend a 3rd party charging unit like this.
what is the battery life like? does it really do any good cooling?
so so price but i think i could get it cheaper somewhere
How long do you have to use the wii before it overheats? I have had no problem with ours. Is it a problem only with earlier models?
