If you're a student (or not) with a working .edu email address and don't have a bias against using Microsoft products, then Windows 7 can be yours for $30. They're offering upgrade versions of both Home Premium and Professional for that price. In order to see Professional, you'll have to: Enter in your .edu email address, click the link in the confirmation email, and finally click on where it says "Need to join your school's network domain?".

Does anyone know how to get the Professional Update version when you go to pre-order?

0.5 hours of coursework is all that's required? Time to enroll in golf lessons again!

    Gutter ball is MISTAKEN!!!

BOTH versions are available; professional and premium.

Profesional is BETTER; allows using Remote Desktop
BOTH 32 bit and 64 bit versions avail

To do a 'clean' install U must do it on a PC running VISTA (with 2 drives) on one drive then install 7 on a separate drive. CLEAN INSTALL

That is what *I* will do ;-0

    VIOLA!

Am I able to use this to upgrade multiple computers I own?

I also got this from the billing page:

"Promotion Duration: This offer commences at 12:00AM Central Daylight Savings Time on September 15th, 2009 and all purchases must be made via the Promotion web site by 11:59AM Central Standard Time on January 3rd, 2010 at which time the offer ends."

It said the the key was in the confirmation email, but I looked all over and did not see it. Must come on Oct 22nd. Also, it would not let me order both of them, only home or professional.

It's also worth pointing out that you are NOT getting any install media with this purchase. You download the version you're going to install. Not sure if what you download is an image of the same Windows 7 Home media you'd get if you purchased the retail box or not.

I still have my .edu address but I graduated about 9 months ago...what are the chances of them asking for proof that I am still enrolled?

i think it's still better to sign up to IEEE and get 3 licenses for Win7 pro.

Nil. MS is too busy fighting lawsuits, maintaining market share vis a vis Linux and Apple, all while trying to make money.

It appears it won't be an ISO file, but a self-extracting installation package. Can anyone find more info on this? @ Handonam...how much is the membership fee and the 3 license fee?
