i stick a clothes hanger out my window and it works perfect. i even get playboy hd with that thing! (and by playboy hd i mean playboy magazines on my toilet.)
cheaper here for most people. 38$ shipped for me http://www.summitsource.com/
I've been thinking of this:
http://www.antennasdirect.com/DB8_HD_Antenna.html
tune it in four directions at once... no need for a rotator... put it in the attic!
Anyone have exp?
#19. If you have access to your attic, stick it inside the attic. That's how I mounted my antenna. I put in the attic to reduce weathering and it picks up stations strong and clear. The great part about UHF frequencies is that it penetrates through most walls, that's why they were chosen for TV since the early days. Other frequencies are absorbed by walls so they were not usable. You might get some small loss, but I get 90-95% signal strength in some channels.
#13. You need to rescan your channels on your TV or converter box. When the stations switched to DTV only last week, they shifted their frequencies around. They are all UHF now, not VHF. The only VHF are temporary broadcast to tell people to get a box or to rescan their stations. After a month or so, they would all go offline and the company who bought the VHF frequency band would take over (I think it was Google or AT&T).
#23. You are overpaying for a bunch of wire mesh. The gain figures are MAX, so it doesn't tell you much in terms of average gain. With gain of such low figures, you don't even need a rotor unless your stations are 90 degrees apart. You're better off with one of the Radio Shack antennas that is only 40" long but has much better gain. There are 17 elements (2 reflectors, 14 directors). You can get 3 of the RS antennas for the price of the DB8 antenna. Point them at different directions and couple them together and you can get much better performance.
WTF? Thats all I can say! This makes ZERO burp sense, genius.
a one inch incher? WTF?
