eBay with Worx has the refurbished Worx GT WG155 10" 20V Li-ion Cordless Grass Trimmer/Edger for $53 with free shipping. Features rechargeable 20V Li-ion battery, adjustable handle, telescopic shaft and automatic line feed.
I have the 18V version and am fairly satisfied but only because I have two batteries. Even with two batteries I can't get the driveway and all the way around the house. Generally I do the driveway and sidewalk on 1-1/2 batteries then use the last half of the 2nd in the blower. Would be happier with 3 batteries but they cost almost as much as a tool with battery. I bought a blower with battery and half-hour charger for less than they were listing a bare battery at the time.
Sure that would be easy, get a little project box and mount an LED on a heatsink and use a driver board capable of 20V input and pop open the casing on this to solder on the wiring. Dealextreme has the LED and driver board at good prices, heatsinks and project boxes can be found anywhere.
However, late at night it's better to use the loudest gas powered trimmer you can find so your neighbors realize it's you out there instead of a prowler.

Worx markets a 24 volt model too..

Dave, can you think of a way to modify one of these to have a LED light so I can edge at night?

Great tip. Thanks a lot!
