You will need a HDD for you xBox eventually.
I just bought a new, but driven car with 60k miles.
This is a new class of item, not quite new, not quite used. Does that make it just right?
falcon 360...
Decent deal, but 'tis $180 new on amazon! I don't care about the box, but I do want warranty.

WTF does new but open box mean?
Geeks has always been known to play tricks with disguised titles. They were the ones who started selling "debranded" HP computers that were actually generic units that looked like HP's. They have also f'ed around with certain barebone kits as well as motherboard-cpu combos. Their tricks list is long- I suspect foul play here too. New in open box?? Did they just open hundreds of boxes to see what's in them? PFFT! GIVE ME A BREAK!
Just because there cant be an Xbox conversation with out bringing up the ps3...
180 for a new non open box xbox without a harddrive + harddrive is around 230with shipping.
299 - New in a box ps3 with the new price drop.

Look at it this way:

versus
$6.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/BEAUTIFUL-ART-GLASS-PAPERWEIGHT_W0QQitemZ400067476131QQcmdZbaconQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5d25e13aa3&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
I'd go with the $6.00.. cheaper yet works better
Correction. 512mb memory if this is indeed "new". Sorry but you can't call an open box item new. Nice try Geeks bacon!
Or you can pick up a 120GB 360HD from target on clearance for around 20 bucks.
I can go to frys if I want an open box
order today and they'll throw in a new, but open can, diet coke.
Geeks has the elite again ( refurb ) for 229.00 + shipping - that sounds like a better chance of getting a good one -
#14 - the Arcade is the only model that guarantees you get a Jasper core... http://www.anandtech.com/gadgets/showdoc.aspx?i=3472 - so far, this seems to be the only processor that is "Red Ring of Death"-Proof.
If you buy an elite, chances are you'll get an old 90nm part (possibly 65nm GPU... but 90nm CPU) which will have a high chance of RROD failure.
only an arcade that's means it doesn't come with a hard drive. sucks. I rather buy a pro.
if you want a 360 and want to go cheap, i'd go for the arcade and just get a hd off craigslist for 20$. sometimes you can find 120gb for 60-70 if you look around. i'd skip this deal, 360s are really fun, but get one new, especially when dell has this price regularly. there are also rumors after the ps3 price cut, the elite is getting it as well.
I just got one for $27.50 in Walmart parking lot from some creepy guy with a flatbed truck.
Shamelessly ripped from some blog somewhere:
A Game Informer survey of 5,000 readers found that the Xbox 360 has an astounding 54.2 percent failure rate. That means 54.2 percent of Xbox 360 consoles fail in one way or another.
Considering Microsoft has sold more than 30 million Xbox 360s, this all means about 16.3 million consoles failed. And of those 16.3 million Xboxes, 6.7 million failed again.
36.4 percent of people who had an Xbox 360 fail have purchased more than one Xbox.

I want to open a casino that only allows 360 owners to gamble. I would make a killing, as they don't seem to care when they keep losing...
