I'm admittedly a bit out of date, and I do not live to build the next best PC for the latest software. But I have a special addiction for FPS games, especially the QUAKE series and DOOM 3. QUESTION: As between the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3, which offers better FPS games (which I define here as having play closer to Quake & Doom3) and better controllers? Can somebody please help?
Definitely go with Xbox for FPS games. While you may have to pay for online gaming (xbox live, $30-35/yr) it's well worth it. The hottest FPS game out right now is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I specifically purchased my xbox, just to play this game. PS3 has about 3-4million players online for Modern Warfare2 while XBOX has roughly 6million. The stats dont lie. I must say though, PS3's controllers are lighter and come rechargeable.
How is this deal. Its a controller that comes with a bunch of crappy games. 5lut whore deal.
If you are on the market for a new controller #3, it's usually around this price too. Tack on these free Live Arcade games for pratically free and it's defintely a deal.
the lawyer just likes to read his own posts. he never has anything beneficial to say.
#2, PS3 controllers may be lighter, but both "come rechargeable". The 360 doesnt come with packaged WIRED controllers in the Pro or Elite models. I believe the 360 controllers are a bit more ergonomic with button placement, but either one will be good for FPS
I would say neither. FPS on controller? Blech. Leave that for the prepubescents and just get yourself a decent PC. If you really rather go the console route, at least try them out at a demo kiosk before committing, because the feel is completely different from mouse+keyboard.
It appears florida likes to ready my posts too.
the 360 is the way to go for FPS. I like the feel of the 360 vs the PS3 controller. I think the PS3 controller is way too light to be very acurate. But the best controller I ever used was the Logitech controller on the original Xbox.
Both the arcade and the elite comes with one wireless controller. Get yourself some rechargable batteries and you are set. You can go out and buy recharable battery packs for the 360 controllers, but I rather stick with the AA. I can always use them for remote controls, flashlights, and digital camera (canon s3).
Awesome feedback - thanks !!!
