So, it doesn't have a hard drive. Can you install any hard drive, or is it a proprietary system and you need to buy a x-box hard drive?

Dell has the arcade and RockBand 2 game only for $200. Will I get at least $30 if I sell the game?

You need a Xbox 360 hard drive, but Microsoft will sell cheap ones to owners of barebones systems:

It is a laptop hard drive but is proprietary, sealed in a plastic case. Although I do believe that you can use usb drives, although I do not know if you can use it as storage.

Which "holiday" is this bundled for. Let's see, looks like Martin Luther King Day is Monday. Do we get black controllers?

You don't need the hard drive. The system is fine if all you want to do is play games. It will either come with a memory card or, if it's a jasper, have memory built in, which is enough for game saves. The hard drive is useful if you want to download demos, Arcade games, movies, etc. A 20gb drive will set you back 20 dollars on Ebay and adds a lot of extras to the system.

Given that much of this nation still lives in regions where only dial up internet is available (thanks to the "free market" refusal to develop rural infrastructure), there are a number of people who would find the hard drive not very useful.

#9, don't try and buy a map pack upgrades, they are roughly 900 MB each and you will be out of luck.

CC deal is out of stock on line and in store in the local zip codes here. You can hook up a USB drive to the Xbox 360 either through one of the controller ports or in the back just above the network plug. The USB HD has to be formatted FAT 32 though. Used the USB drive as MV4 and MPEG-4 video storage so I could have a video on demand set-up (ripped the DVDs using Handbrake (freeware and it is an awesome little program). Also networked the Xbox with my HTPC running XP Media edition and have been able to successfully stream TV and Video. It does seem that you need the M$FT drive for the 360 to download the codec updates to play videos, download some of the networking info and to save some profile information for the new NXE software. Other than that you could probably get by without one.

Hi, I'm very new to these forums and I'm not certain if this type of information will be valued at all but I'll give it a shot. It's REALLY easy to mod the XBox 360 hard drive. What I recommend doing is getting the 20GB hard drive, and then searching youtube or elsewhere for a tutorial on upgrading the drive. You'll need to invest roughly $60 more for a 120GB notebook drive but, after all is said and done, you come out with basically a white XBox 360 Elite and you save a ton of money.
