If i were you i would just save up for a ps3. Soon to be at $500, the ps3 will be the new best value video game out there. I am talking about a REAL video game so Wii does not really even count. Since Wii is out of the picture, the only 2 next gen gaming platforms are the xbox elite and ps3. I believe that eventually ps3 will regain its dominance because the tide is about to turn on microsoft as the ps3 price goes down. Microsoft just came out with the elite so there is NO way that they could counteract with a price drop of their own. If you consider buying a 360 elite with HD dvd you will be paying $ 6 6 0 . But a ps3 will only cost $ 500 with a bluray player. So thats a $160 bargain for a better system, better graphics, wireless enabled, soon better games, and much much more. Now the ps3 flat out just beats the 360. Microsoft is so so lucky that it got a head start in this race. And also not to mention that the xbox was doomed without HALO. So face the reality xbox fanboys your time is over.

an xbox 360 elite + hdd has 120GB. So you cant compare $660 with $500, not even $600.

There is also rumor that xbox WILL drop their prces as well. They will be moving from the 90nm chips to 65nm, which will be cheaper to produce.

I'm not sure what OJ Simpson has to do with this... but the 360 is going to kill the ps3 because it was released over a year earlier, and at a better price point. And, another selling point for the 360, which #1 seemed to confuse with a negative trait, is Halo.

Not mentioned here is the fact that the new pigs#it3 threes will have software replacing some of the hardware in the original models. Not sure what the net affect will be though.

PS3 price drop down to $500 because:

Sony was looking to decrease the production cost of the Playstation 3, and they decided to replace dedicated hardware with software that will replace its functionality. The hardware had been providing full backwards compatibility of PS2 games, but the new configuration will not offer the same level of support.

Sony now using software instead of hardware chips. They reduce number of chips and used software to simulate functinality of those chips so the price went down.

They removed the EE+GS chip. Removing (EE) chip and the PS2's Graphics Synthesizer (GS) will reduce the cost of producing a PS3.

They are also removing some other parts like tertiary silicon from the system. Sony has just removed a significant Playstation 3 feature!

And that means new PS3 has less power that the one they already released, because hardware is always faster than software. Using more software instead of hardware means less compatibility and less power.

So you can see that you pay less but for something with less power and features.

And also there is a possibility Microsoft cut the price of its XBOX 360 and add this: XBOX 360 now has 3 years warranty!

3 year warranty only one specific hardware problem, I wouldn't really call that a warranty.

I don't get why people care if there Xbox has a 120gb HD, I've used like 1gb of my 20.

You can use a computer to store movies, games, music, pictures, you don't need a huge hard drive in a Xbox.
As of right now, BOTH the 360 and the ps3 suck. There are no games for either system that justify buying a $500 toy and untill there is, there will be no "better" system.

I have 360, PS3, and a Wii. My 360 gets ten times the usage of the other two combined. The 360 has plenty of great games. #9 is a farktard.

it is lookin like the hddvd is going to win out even though the bluray is higher capacity. hddvd will be easier to pirate and therefore will be more popular.

#11 what games then, I have Komeo elements of power, Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gothem 3, Fuzion Frenzy 2, Viva Pinata, Rockstar Table Tennis, Gears of War, and Forza Motorsports 2 for xbox 360.

I also have Forza Motorsports, Halo and Halo 2, for Xbox and Uno and Robotron for Arcade.

GOW and FM2 are by far the best, but theres no way I would pay $500 for those 2 games.
Xbox live is kind of cool but the only people that talk are little imature kids that sound like girls... or kids that think there gangsters...
(btw I got my 360 for free along with 12 months xbox live and 2 controllers)
