If you have kids that want a 360 then this is good. But if you're looking to spend this kind of money, just get a PS3, the blu ray will pay for itself, plus you'll get batter graphics and gameplay.

This is a great deal for an Elite. So buy with confidence. If I didn't already own one, this is the one I'd buy this holiday... I have an original 360 which didn't support HDMI, so I envy this model!

Did Microsoft ever fix the red ring of death issue? I recall Xbox360 having a 50%+ failure rate.

I know guys who have been through a few 360s. Mine has never had an issue. Its just the luck of the draw. But why would they fix something that gets them another $300 from the same people over and over again? Microsoft is prolly named after Gates' schlong. Or rather, schort..

    Linux vs. MS..

I prefer PS3 based on its true overall value and usefulness.

I'm on my second one, but, after almost 3 years of playing, I can't complain. RROD is not AS MUCH of an issue now, as it was at launch and the first 2 years. I do agree with slapya though, for most of users, the arcade bundle with that refurb deal from CC is a good way to go

PS3 does not have as many games nor does it stream your NetFlix in HD. If you want games and to use d/l's get this. If you're in the market for a Blue Ray player that you'll play the occasional game on get the PS3.

Xbox 360 streams netflix. Thus, it wins.

Why stream a 720P movie (XBOX) when you can rent a Blueray (PS3) movie with 1080 quality?

PS3 is nice for its Blu-Ray player but if you want online play then the 360 is better.
