yea #20 at least soomeone can get back on subject
I have been having problems connecting to XBlive for over a week..to just get online it acts like it signing in then does not...my internet connection is hardwired T2 and works fine..so its XBlive that is having the problems.
@#19
That HD-DVD player DOES output 1080p (not that you could tell the difference anyways), you just can't do it over a component connection (which is a legal problem not a limitation of the player). If you want 1080p, you need to use either VGA or HDMI.
True this sucks for older consoles that do not have an HDMI output, but those are the breaks.
#19 The red ring of death is a real issue, which MS has covered with extended warrenties. Remember all the problems with the hardware is the ps1 and the first 3 revisions of the ps2? How many extended warrenties did Sony come up with? 0. As for the ability to play hd movies, well the 360 was $200 less so spending $190 on an add on would still ring up to $10 less. Not to mention that they included cables so you can at least watch stuff in 1080i. Using a ps3 with the cables it came with gives you 480i. Whats so hi def about that? And the cables from Sony are $60. Lastly the hd dvd drive can play movies in 1080p if you have an hdmi xbox or have a tv that supports 1080p using vga. Of course since less than a quarter of hdtv that are actually in American homes are 1080p it doesn't really matter now (in 3 years it will).
As for exclusives well other than mgs4 there aren't any this year for Sony. At least any that aren't over hyped first party games (remember how they pushed Resistence and Warhawk and that crappy chick version of God of War?). MGS4 should be great, but in the meantime there is nothing exclusive on the PS3 worth spending your time or money on. Hopefully Killzone will be good (I liked the first one). But thats not due until next year. And God of War 3 may suck since the leads involved in the first 2 are gone. And it hasn't even been officially announced (afaik).
You do make a valid point about hdd upgrades. But this only matters if you store a ton of crap on your system.
#21 - back on subject question, does the coupon work again or are we still L?
