Refurbished = new heat sinks or... what?
I got a refurb Xbox 360 Pro on Ebay. It went RRoD after about 2 or 3 hours of play. I was able to return it for a refund. I opted for a new Xbox 360 Premium because they come with a 3 year warranty now.
Anybody know if MS will honor the 3 year warranty on these?
I love the games on this bad boy. An HD tv is a must with this. Otherwise it looks just like the original Xbox.
Xbox 360 is pure gangsta!
Ballers only need to apply.
This console war sux. Xbox overheats, PS3 has no good games, and the wii novelty wears off fast.
I would get the new one, since this warranty is 90 day, you might as well throw your money away.
my bet: PS3. we know there are few games for Ps3, but believe they are catching up. but is it just games, we are talking about...look for youself at Ps3. you enjoy every moment of it. I have both at home...but Ps3 simply is ahead of all.
#6 you are an rodeo cowboy. PS3 has only a few good games and nothing on the horizon looks very promising. The 360 has lots of good games and many more coming. Halo 3 next month and CoD4 in Oct are must haves for me.
Besides, XBL is SWEET!!!
Warranty: 90 Days
Not sure if M$ will extend?
I had a x360 premium and had tons of read errors and RROD and decided that after 4 360's it was time for a ps3 and its not as cool as some fanboys would have you believe but it has been a lot more stable for me. By the way i had the 360 in a well ventilated area too but still got rrod.
I just got a 360 a couple of weeks ago and I love it. The 3 year warranty is nice. I dare sony to come out with something better for single/multiplayer than Halo 3. Don't say crysis because bioshock already beat it.
#1 some newer refurbs may have the new heat sinks. Here is a way to find out if it is the new heat sink or not.

It depends on what games you want to play. #7 you're talking about 2 games that are likely to be good. But I hate consoles for games such as shooters. My PC is set up to do that. And does it much better. And so far, there has not been much released for Xbox that the PC has not also received. Although, some games are noted as new for console. They are in many cases, just more maps that the PC already has due to expansions and mods.
The PS3 is really lacking in the game department as you say. Especially games that multi-play with the people sitting next to you. The few titles that Sony put out that are fun. Will not let you play head to head with the guy sitting next to you.....THAT is What really BLOWS with PS3. On the other hand, it looks the best no matter what game you play, If you can find a game to play. On the movie side of PS3, the Blu-ray for movies is really nice if you have a big screen that does 1080p.
Despite the faults of both systems. The current xbox is dead as a future platform. If and when they introduce the XBOX2(or whatever they call it) with improved specs that would be something to talk about. The PS3 is very future, it will be next year before the games I am waiting for will be out, but, I wanted it for the blu-ray not the games. So I continue to wait.
I know many with one or the other will say it is their favorite game console. For me, the sports games and driving games blow the xbox away in quality, NOT QUANTITY, that goes to xbox. But you can still play PS2, and with current firmware, that gives the edge back to PS2. Just remember, the current xbox is the one up for PS2. PS3 is a big jump up on XBOX no matter how big Microsoft makes the hard drive or adds plug in accessories.
To add about wii:
The Wii as one mentioned is neat for the innovative game play. But after you play the included sports games. I wonder what else it is good for. The other consoles get the same games the Wii gets. And for the last 10 games I got from Gamefly to play on Wii. The graphics, story line, and performance were all pretty bad. The exception, the Mario titles are decent.T
#12 but as you say, you still can't 'play head to head with the guy sitting next to you'. And that is what makes games fun!
If you want to watch movies by all means get a PS3. If you want to play games get an Xbox.
#13 if some of these games come out I might just get a Wii.

Nice link Sleazy.
I have had to play a few of those games. I did not need a console to do it. Would have been more fun.
#12 Stop reciting from PS3 Fan boy site.
PS3s' "quality" at best is the same as XBOX 360.
Show me a game that is better on PS3 compare to 360.
There are 360 games appear on PC, just mean that those games are great, and companies want to make more money.
"The current Xbox is dead as a future platform". Ha-ha... Keep chanting that if it makes you feel better.
Last but not least, what is with your mumble-jumble last paragraph? Sounds like Sony fan boy is getting delusional again.
#17, I will give the quality argument to PS3. Afterall, it does cost twice as much to manufacture than the Xbox.
They are both good products. But I just prefer to play games now and play head to head with my buddies next to me and online as opposed to just playing with myself. Although with Cheetos and beer that is fun too!
#10> Bioshock is great and all, but Crysis is going to rape its ass with its graphics, physics, huge open-ended environments, and realistic military combat.
#19, umm bioshock also has great graphics as well as open-ended environments.
