I thought the platinum just came out not too long ago. Refurbish units already?!

    That's the "Elite" unit.

My guess is that they replaced the power-supplies (external) on a bunch of units and re-packed-em.

Some of the drives seem to hork discs, as well, but I'm not sure if they've acknowledged that.

#3, yes it is, considering the refurb no-hard drive system is $250 and another $80+ to add on your own drive. I bought an original xbox refurb and never had a problem with it.

Personally, though, I'd recommend ebay or craigslist for a deal on a used xbox system cause you'll probably wing up getting games and accessories included, which you can sell or trade-in somewhere.

    #10 take the following

Microsoft released that .1% of their systems burn out..out of that .1%, 1% burn down a person's house.

So lets say Microsoft has received and "Repaired" about 100,000 units. that .1% = 100 units

out of that 100, 1 of them can burn down your house.(100 *1%)

So the odds are of an xbox 360 burning down your house is .001%

Then theres only 1 question to ask yourself...do you feel lucky?..well do ya?
