More copies of Madden 2008 are selling on the xbox than ps3. Therefore, blue-ray is dead, and HD-DVD won.

Aren't all 360s supposed to have an HDMI port standard from now on?

They are supposed to have HDMI standard on anything above the core, (this includes the premium, platinum or whatever the bundle is called for whoever). Chances are unless it says it has an HDMI port, it probably doesn't. There is still some Premium Xbox 360s that don't have the HDMI port as there is some old stock.

Either wait for when Halo 3 comes closer to release as there will have to be a bunch of sales coming up, or buy this and probably live without the HDMI port.

Another thing to keep in mind is that only the Elite systems give you an HDMI cable as well, the Premiums just give you a component cable.

#12, The new premium's do have HDMI (not just elite). It was confirmed on engadget, the new boxes have a sticker promoting this. But they may not have the 65nm, which is supposed to fix the cooling problems.

madden 08 also runs in 60fps on xbox360, but only 30 on PS3.

well if that is the case, I see no reason to buy an elite if you don't need a huge HDD.

I am going to wait and buy till the 65nm chips come out, I want to make sure I have a stable system. Plus, they will run cooler and use less power.

the HDMI Premiums have an additional Heat pipe / heatsink which is supposed to have solved the heating problem already.

I really wonder if that fully solves the problem or it is just prolongs the life, only to leave it suseptible to breaking down.

Here is a link with what is inside the elite:

    http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/news/inside_the_xbox_360_elite.htm

But for small price bump over the Elite, I can get the Premiumn, plus the HD DVD drive and 5 free HD DVDs. monoprice has HDMI cables for cheap. The only thing I would not have is the 120 gig HD.
