This is what I paid for mine at Target a year ago...
Yeah, this didn't drop in price like many had hoped when the Wii and PS3 launched.
Microcenter has the Platinum system at original price, but with $100 rebate, in store only.
Yep, that Microcenter deal is probably the best one I've seen in a long time actually.
Althought PS3 is great and so is the Wii, I think the 360 holds it's own. With the exception of the PS3, I think the 360 and Wii will definately be around for a while... Let's hope the PS3 does well also.
The Sunday Toys R Us newspaper advertisement offered a $100 gift card with the purchase of an XBox 360.
Will prob have to wait a couple months until the price drops again.....need to get threw xmas....and 30 day pricematching stores honor.....
Been a PS fan most of my life but it's time to get back to my roots with the Wii. NES & SNES ruled my childhood and I see the Wii making a hit with all the families out there. I hope Nintendo can get some good games out soon. But the ability to play Gamecube and other older games means there are already good solid games you can play on the Wii, for those that didn't own any of the older Nintendy systems this will add a lot of new titles they can play.
Yeah, this isn't a hot deal. If you want a warm deal, buy it from The Toys R Us & get a $100 gift card. If you have a Amex Wish Certificate, THEN you have a hot deal. It's all tempting but I'm gonna a hold off buying an Xbox until the new smaller die is implemented and Halo 3 is out. A price reduction is probably not gonna happen in the first quarter of '07, but they _should_ at least upgrade the HD, include HDMI and have the HD-DVD built in. I also agree with #5, the PS3 needs to do well to keep M$ on it's toes.
i concur with #8
still cheaper than PC gaming system.
#11... true, but there really is no comparison between a PC gaming system and a console gaming system.
To number 11's comment. It is kinda true. My Pentium 3.0/6800GT AGP system is already showing its age on current titles like Call of Duty 2. To upgrade would cost a lot more than the Xbox 360 I just purchased for $340. I'll get a new Vista/DirectX10 pc next year, but for now, the Xbox 360 is an excellent bridge to hold me over.
Now if only I could get the media sharing to work. One needs to be a MS-certified network admin.
the price go lower i will get one
Becareful purchasing from Overstock.com, I got this same deal a while back, the unit was USED. It died, 3 red lights, they were nice enough to exchange it, but never acknowledged that the unit was used.
I could tell it was used, because of the scrape marks, where you crack open the system.
I'm sitting out on this console war
my friend is addicted to call of duty 3, it is rediculous.
Can I watch my porn movies on this thing?
The microcenter deal is by far the best. There is a MIR for $100. I bought one last week. Also opened a BankOfAmerica card to get 13000 points. That translates to $100 if you don't have an existing MBNA or BOA card. Since I have one already, it translates to $130. My total cost for the system is $170!
Definitely the best next gen system at this point, due to its established library of games and excellent online capabilities.
