Nice, the red ring refurbs are making it back out to market. Fairly tempting.
#1 - tell y0ur mom to stop wearing lipstick. She keeps putting a red ring around my unit.
The refurbs have the new heatsinks/mobos. But you know what, you could have five RROD, which results in months of waiting between shipments from the MS Service center, but after all that time, the PS3 will still fail to come out with a decent game!
I am enjoying my PS3 with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and playing online for free. Oh, there is this little game called Metal Gear Solid 4 coming too.
Is the paid Xbox live back online yet and how are the law suits going?
genius post there punch, lets see...there are MAYBE 2 good games for the PS3...oh, say about a dozen AAA games for the 360...I would rather pay a WHOPPING $3+ per month for Xbox live(sorry if you can't afford that) where I can find TENS OR HUNDREDS of thousands of other players using the service for the game that I happen to be on...Live was never offline...there have been issues, but most are cleared up and people sue if they spill hot coffee on themselves,so whats your point?

shish.... fanboys galore.... why would you buy a refurb of a lousy product to begin with? spend the extra 100 bucks and get a newer version which still has a 10-15 % rate of getting RROD..... LOL Falcon chips.... ha MS has quality issues. What's the point of getting good games when you've got to send your "box" back.... ???
I've sent mine back, but its been covered under warranty...AFTER the first year...I am not complaining, although I agree, there is no way in hell I would buy a refurb of ANY system.

Why not refurb as long as they are replacing the problem part/parts that malfunctioned. The xbox should be good as new as long as their QC isn't dropping the ball.

#12, I've had that error with NHL 08 and Gears of War, but the problem is not on MS's end, it's the gaming company.
An Insider from MS Xbox 360 project did and interview with a popular gaming site and he/she had something to say about the the unheard of 30% failure rate of the the box. Simply put the whole project had problems from head to toe and MS knew about it, yet they still push the unit out just so they can beat SONY to the market...

BTW, i am no fanboy of anything. The only reason I have every console but a 360 is the carp quality of the machine.

You may hate Sony but they make things that don't go defective in droves. Just the occasional hiccup is about all you find when it comes to their game consoles. And you guys know they are starting to get their games out. By Christmas, PS3 will be on your list of goodies to put under the tree. PS3 will eventually pass xbox if they don't come up with more to offer. At CES Bill had NOTHING for you guys. Maybe next year.
