Argh, again with the 400w minimum PSU. Why - it's a low power chip (5450) passively cooled card? People tell me it'll be fine with a 300w PSU, but I hate when manufacturers do stuff like this. It just makes me think they want to avoid honoring the warranty.
yeah, those ratings are quite laughable. I mean, this card, full out, pulls under 20 watts of power.
You could stuff 3 of them in a computer(without crossfire, as they don't support it), deck it out with an i5-3570K, as much ram as you want, an ssd, a big storage drive, a blu ray burner, plenty of fans, and still not even hit 300watts, let alone 400.
Jim5K, while I don't remember ever sending in an XFX card for warranty replacement (I might have, just don't remember it), but others I've sent in never asked any questions about the system it didn't work in, EXCEPT if you go to their forum and ask something like "please help me get my video card working", then they'll ask about system specs.
Instead you just request an RMA stating it doesn't work in a known working system while other cards do work. Jim5K, odds are your system has at least 100W margin and can run a 100W video card, IF the PSU has the connector to do so, though you may have an issue with the temperature it runs at because OEM boxes tend to be configured for low airflow to keep noise reasonable without the additional cost of adding more fans like an enthusiast might do to achieve higher airflow with no more noise by choosing low RPM fans.
