Good price. This is a heavy receiver, plenty of copper. I have the less expensive 5960 and it works fine for me, which doesn't have the hdmi switching.

Can this 7.1 receiver be used with the 6.1 speaker system? Anyone is familiar with the Bose 16 series II (6.1 system). Yamaha makes good product and I like to go back for more. Inputs/tips are appreciated.

#3, yes, will work with 7.1, 6.1, 5.1 or 2 I am not a big fan of Bose, or any other tiny satellite / subwoofer system, yeah they look cute, but always sound weak, so I can't help you with the second item. I would advise that you get some real speakers with decent size drivers.

Not a good deal - for another $50 you can get the newer model.

This 6090 model was $699 at a lot of places around x-mas last year...surprised to see it has come up to $999 at most of them now. Either way there's a lot of places you can get it for $650. Great deal, great receiver.
