Newegg has the Zalman CNPS9900MAX 135mm CPU Cooler in blue (also red) for $70 - $10 rebate [Exp 12/31] = $60 with free shipping. Features 135mm pulse width modulation LED fan, Black-Pearl nickel plated copper heatsink, and includes ZM-STG2 thermal grease and CPU sockets.
$60 for a 3" fan? I can find snow blowers that are cheaper than that.
any reviews on this one?

#1, your snow blower will blow your CPU up for sure.
So, if I happen to bump my tower case, this thing will rip the CPU off the motherboard??
#1, you need to check your math. From Newegg's page for this item:
135mm divided by 25.4mm/inch = 5.315 inches, NOT 3 inches.
#5, this, like most other large heatsinks, doesn't attach itself to the socket, but rather, through the motherboard, to the backing plate behind the motherboard (either the one that comes stock on the motherboard, or one supplied with the cooler). This is because the tabs on the old style cpu sockets couldn't handle the weight of a cooler like this. So no, you won't rip the cpu off the motherboard.
You might, however, rip the motherboard off the case standoffs!!
Nice 'sink, but the price leaves it positioned too close to water cooling. Then again with this design you might find you can take the fan off and run it totally passive if you aren't overclocking or running more than 4 cores... and assuming your case has a rear exhaust fan right behind it.
Hell yeah...I just bought at 120mm cooler and the damn thing is the size of two hands put together. This one is 135mm...It's big!
It should have its own porno series name after itself.
You can buy a simple water cooling set for the same price.
Pretty efficient cooler according to frostytech. The water cooler ( same price range) maybe the Corsair H50 is quiet but not efficient. But for a $60 price tag- I don't think it should be call a bargain...
