I already bought it in the store. No shipping
I think it's still there.
oh no this might alert people of porn usage, buyer beware
It's better than nothing... that's for sure...
Still no support for Windows x64 (64-bit XP or Vista). Zonelabs needs develop support for new OS's (that being said, 64-bit XP is over a year old), or else lose share to competitors which have long come out with their products...
Kaspersky is better.
Is it worth it, or just keep using the free one?
The free one is only the firewall...
This one has according to the description:
# Network and Program Firewall
# Operating System Firewall IMPROVED
# Antivirus
# Identity Theft Protection IMPROVED
# Anti-Spyware NEW
# Spy Site Blocking NEW
# Privacy Protection
# Anti-Spam & Anti-Phishing
# IM Protection
# Game Mode NEW
Is this any better than the Panda security software?
Better than Panda. Still no 64bit. Damn. I just built an x64computer and can't use this or one of my printers, regardless of new drivers from the mfr. WTF?
I have zone alarm 2006 and it's working flawlessly so far
If you have broadband then you most likely are provided a free firewall. I have cable internet through time warner and they gave me computer associates firewall which uses the same true vector engine as ZoneAlarm. I tested both of them (the free one and zone alarm pro) and both passed at shieldsup.com (so I now use the free one). THEN I got AVG free, which has repeatedly found viruses that McAfee couldn't find. It's true that ZoneAlarm is SUPER customizable, but it is so much heavier on system resources and seems slower at filtering packets. That is why I simply wont use Zonealarm Pro anymore. On the topic of protecting your pc, might I suggest to use Adaware se, Spybot S&D, and ewido antispyware. They are very effective as well and all FREE. I really see no need in dishing out cash when it comes to protecting your pc effectively.
Firewall only is as short sighted as AV only in this age. Although you don't necessarily need everything on the list, the system resource impact may be lower than having each item as a standalone app.
Zone must have x64 support by the time Vista launches.
agree with #11, no need to pay those thing unless you make some like the Cusa deal.
Guys...Is it worth buying this no-name brands?? Are they any good? I know about Frys electronics, they are pretty good but want to make sure that the product is also good. Please email or leave note here. Thanks in advance!!!
I wouldn't exactly call this a 'no name brand'.... Zone Alarm has received Editor's Choice award and such, from CNET Reviews, for what that's worth.
That said, I personally use Zone Alarm for both FW and AV, and I like it. I like how I'm even alerted when changes to my registry are trying to be made (when I install a program I want, or something else that might be bad...), or when a program is trying to launch and it won't until you OK it (you can tell it to remember programs, such as when I tell it Firefox is ok, it won't as you again).
Even has a spyware program that I use to scan my computer.
Also settings for e-mail, I guess for if you use Outlook? I don't know.. Instant Messenger settings too.
What about Norton and the othercompetitors? I don't know... I've really only used this, because it's working well for me.
Great firewall. I've used it for years. Fantastico
zone alarm firewall is top shelf.
I also really enjoy and recommend the free firewall
get a free one
AVG is still good for the anti-virus, low resources! nice
