"Item not Found" for me.
Note that the stock picture makes it look like this is a fanless system, but the pictures at NewEgg show a 60mm-or-so fan that you have to mount on the big heatsink. Sucks, but at least the heatsink is big enough to take a large fan and not the small loud thing that most Atom boards use.
Same here
ZOTAN!
Item DELISTED!
I have the Intel version and the fan is on the North Bridge so the CPU is fanless.
Spend the extra money for the A version.. it comes with built-in DC-DC converter for the PS, so you don't need an ATX power supply. It also has N wireless builtin etc. It's worth the extra $.
@1, pretty certain the fan is included however optional to use (see: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3562&p=2).
this is a great deal for "Item not found." otherwise I'd be all over it.
Whether you need the fan depends on case design. In an ideal design you will have either the PSU (if internal to the case) with it's own exhaust fan and case intake holes directly above the heatsink as well as a lesser intake area behind the hard drive mount. Note that might require modifying the case, cutting out such a hole and ideally putting a mesh filter panel over the cutout to finish it and keep dust at bay.
The pity about these systems is they are pitched as if they make good HTPC alternatives when they don't. Clueless reviewers test by playing something that will take advantage of HD acceleration and deliberately ignore videos that won't, which the Atom is too underpowered to decode itself.
Frankly I see the best option for this to be if manufacturers strap it into the back of an oversized 24" monitor casing along with a 1TB HDD to result in an all-integrated system at a $450 price point.
