i've found it is faster and more consistent than wifi... my powerline setup pulls about 70mb... but beware of the zyxel stuff, I've had 2 of their routers burn out on me in 1 months time
#2: I live in a townhome and my neighbor has the same router as I do. This causes plenty of interference and prevents me from receiving a consistent WiFi signal upstairs. I use the IOGear Homeplug solution and it has worked great once I figured out which plus provided the most consistent signal.
