Ok, which is "better"? DVD+R or DVD-R?

Use these to copy Sony Pictures DVDs to thank them for the rootkit.

While +R is theoretically better in the lab, it doesn't necessarily hold true in the real world.
The brand/quality of the media is more important than any differences between -R & +R. It also depends on what drive you create them with and what you are going to read them on. Personally, I've had better luck/compatibility with -R disks for movies, but that could be due to my older NEC and Pioneer burners that have good support for -R disks.

Assuming the exact same quality of media, +R should have a slight edge for data disk (read/write on the computer), and -R should have an edge for movie playback in older DVD players.

nutzo: agreed. i just wanted to see how many people would be quick to defend DVD-R with their personal anecdotes.

DVD+R is a better spec (which is all my aforementioned link's technical garbly-gook means), but real-world factors usual overcome the on-paper differences.

ispeakathetrutha: my advice is go to http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia, look up the particular media you are interested in (http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia/sony-dvd-r-sony16d1-16/3192 & http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia/sony-dvd-r-sony-d21-16/2967), and see if anybody says anything about their experience with your burner and/or player model/brand, as those, after disc quality, will be the two most limiting factors.

The DVD-R/+R packs which Costco sells are HUB INKJET PRINTABLE which, if you have an Epson or HP Direct-to-Disc printable printer is really nice. It's also easier to write on the printable surface with a ball pen or sharpie. Plus, Costco sells both the DVD+R and DVD-R. My local Costco was actually sold out this week. I've already got two cake boxes sitting on my shelf from the last sale though, so no rush. I personally like the Sony discs and have had pretty good success with them. TDK also makes a good disc but theirs was not HUB printable (larger 24mm ΓΈ non printable region).

You don't need coupon to get 1 free at Costco.Cashier told me, it will automatic deduct 1 pack when they scan both. One transaction per day per account.if you need to get more, come back next day.

Everything in the costco mailer does not require the coupon at the stores. All the savings was taken automatically. Now is a good time to stock up on anything you need there.
