Since you started integration with Facebook's "Like" functionality, it takes way too long waiting for a page to fully load (5-10 seconds).
I can tell that the Facebook widget is the problem, as you can see the loading indicator, and the page finally releases once it is complete.
What do you think? |

I don't notice the page "releasing", there seems to be full functionality (besides facebook) while you're waiting for facebook's overloaded server to complete the request.
However, using an IE or Firefox, etc plugin or HOSTS file you can block facebook entirely or portions of it. |

To block it in IE, first locate your windows "HOSTS" file. You'll need to edit it. Here's more info on that,

You'll want to add a line to the HOSTS file that reads as follows, then save the file (making sure it is just "HOSTS", not hosts.txt), close IE and wait a few seconds then open IE and it should be blocked. Older OS might need to reboot first, I don't remember:
127.0.0.1 connect.facebook.net |
