Hi All:

I'm looking for some good ways to get 80%-90% off when I eat out. So far, I've been able to use Groupon and stuff to get to about half off. I recently found this blog post, and the advice seems okay:

Restaurant Deals: How I Go Out to Eat and Pay Practically Nothing

However, I would love to be able to save even more than half off. I'm wondering if there's more difficult deals or good tricks to get food out for even cheaper.

What do you guys do? Is there any way to save more?

Thanks!

It's not likely you'll save more than that. Ingredients tend to cost about 30% of the meal price, so if they aren't making at least a little profit there is not much point.

There is an exception of course, if you go to extremely expensive restaurants and are a VIP, or at a casino.

There are a few websites that offer some great savings.

You can go to groupon.com
bizzability.com
livingsocial.com

Just to name a few

I recommend using the five finger discount or the dine and dash maneuver for a budget minded person like yourself.

When it comes to eating out I go where the food is good and not where I have a coupon. I have been treated very rudely when trying to use a coupon so I said never again. I'm afraid they might spit in my food or something.

^ Go to places where you aren't required to flash the coupon before receiving the food, though at fast food places I find they have such apathy that a coupon doesn't matter... relatively speaking they get treated badly enough by jerks that a coupon isn't enough to get mad about, especially if they're getting paid the same either way.

Groupon and Four Square are great places to check for food deals. There's also promos on Google Places.
