Marketing guys caught talking and only ever so slightly scripted.
My take... If ATI has been working with gaming houses to help them perfect and write Dx11 code for a title, they should call that work proprietary and cut Nvidia out of using the code ATI helped produced.
It's the same thing with stinking in-game antialiasing code, it's not a proprietary option for gamers... Nvidia was gracious to provide the help to Eidos and now calls what's basically open source thier property. "The Unreal engine does not support in game AA, so we added it and QAed it for our customers." To me the "our customers" isn't you or me it was the gaming house like Eidos.
This is what will drive a stake in the PC Gaming Industry, it's going to be downhill form here . |
