I think dave_c has been a great semi/quasi-representative for Ben's Bargain. To me, he seems like the personality of Ben's Bargain web site.
I think Ben's Bargains should think about giving Dave a decent salary and rename Ben's Bargains to Dave's Bargains since he is the only web site personality that users get to interact with regularly.
I don't think Dave should have to live near El Segundo though. I think he likes living where it snows, he likes visiting his Mother in law, and his 5 gallon bucket tomato plants would be too hard to move across the country...

lol, what if my real name is Ben and I'm pretending to be a forum member named Dave who pretends to be a forum member named Ben so nobody catches on to my diabolical scheme?

Well, because Ben lived/went to school in San Francisco and I won't think it would be likely that Ben would move to the Right Coast just to grow tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets in his backyard.

Besides a salary, I believe that Dave_C should be given the appropriate ornaments to accompany his position, ie, a crown and a robe.
If he so chose, a cape could be used in place of a robe, but it'd have to be a good looking cape, not some cheap Chinese knockoff from "Capes-R-Us". |

^ lol, it took them seven hours, then at 5:02, | Quote: | | "take your motherboard out and set it always on top of the bag... it will keep it protected while you work on it". |
If your movement generates static then you touch a motherboard on an anti-static bag, the bag won't do anything helpful. The charge still travels through the board circuits till the potential voltage is equalized.
Not only does that not protect it, that's exactly what one shouldn't do because anti-static bags conduct electricity, can create a short if the board is powered, drain the battery, and keep a board from POSTing. Granted, a lot of bags have only partial metallic grid coverage so problems will only happen a small % of the time depending on how the board is positioned.
To those that don't know, an anti-static bag only equalizes the charge across the board for handling while it is in the bag. The inside of the bag is non-conductive while the outside usually isn't.

| Dave, you shouldn't make fun of your fellow Ben's Bargain staff members. Computer parts aren't their bag. That's why they hired you :) |

| Yeah, I'm sure I was a bit awkward at it the first time too, but I can't even remember what my first full build was as I was mixing/matching/upgrading/repairing/etc OEM systems for a while before then... and it was a lifetime ago. |
