| i know this is a stupid ??? Can any LCD monitor play PS3 games and blueray movies? my 4 year old 61" tv has no HDMI port and my husband is thinking we HAVE to buy a new tv. Can we just get an LCD monitor? |

| Yes, but I suggest buying the most expensive LCD monitor you can find to improve the video quality of the games. |

#2, you ought to be banned for trying to mislead the OP in this heinous manner. People like you make me sick.
#1 is right, though I would also recommend purchasing a new TV, because your 4 year old 61" TV will not work next year once everything goes digital unless it has an HDMI port.

| You might be able to get a firmware upgrade for that 61 inch TV. I have upgraded several of my TV to HDMI with a simple firmware upgrade. |

| You'll have to get an hdmi-dvi cable or converter plus the monitor must support HDCP which I think most do these days... |

| You might also have to peel off the back label/cover to unhide the HDMI connector after the firmware upgrade. |
