Unless you've been living under a rock for the past couple weeks, it's hard to read the news without seeing a mention of Apple's brand-new iPhone 4. Released in the U.S. on June 24th, Apple sold about 1.7 million units of the device in about 3 days. The iPhone 4 is the fourth generation of the iPhone which started with the first iPhone in 2007, followed by the 3G and 3GS in the following years. Click on to read my full impressions. The HP 311, released late last year, was one of the first netbooks featuring the new NVidia ION graphics card with the GeForce 9400M chipset. I had read numerous reviews of the card with surprising claims for an onboard GPU. I was in the market for something very portable to take on the road without sacrificing power, so I chose the most powerful configuration available to see just how robust this netbook could be. Following up on the very popular WD TV Live, Western Digital rolled out the WD TV Live Plus last week — a revision that looks identical to the previous version in size, shape and form factor. While the transition from their first generation player to the WD TV Live was a giant leap into network connectivity for their expansive list of file support, the transition to the WD TV Live Plus doesn't feel as accomplished in comparison. Earlier this year, Sony revamped their 16.4" VAIO F series notebooks with Intel's brand-spanking-new Core i7 mobile processors. Since I was in the market for a good all-around laptop, I decided to custom build a VAIO VPC-F1190X of my own. Move over T1i, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i is here to take the mantle as Canon's newest flagship entry-level DSLR. The Aspire One 8.9" was Acer's first foray into the very crowded netbook market. Netbooks are popular because of their small size, light weight, and low cost. The Aspire One was aimed to undercut the current offerings by other manufacturers, particularly the base models with an 8GB SSD and Linux. My test model was a 160GB HDD with Windows XP, more conventional than its spartan brethren but a nice setup for users wanting a larger hard drive and familiar OS. [Read Full Review]

It's been a while since my last cell phone review, which was a Motorola RAZR2, and since then I've decided to get the Apple iPhone 3GS (16GB). I've had my share of smartphones, including Symbian and Windows Mobile devices and they've mostly disappointed me. The main problem that I have with Symbian and Windows Mobile – and this is something that I see in nearly all versions of it, including 6.5 – is lag. From the menus to the programs themselves, they all seem to suffer from lag. So I switched over to the Apple camp in hopes that it would help revive my faith in smartphones. So does it? A popular trend in computing and portable devices in particular is multi-touch input. While it lacks the "wow" factor of a glove-controlled computer interface like in "Minority Report," multi-touch has proven to be an appealing alternative, and Windows 7's improved support for it is evidence the technology is here to stay. The selling point of the 12.1" HP TouchSmart tx2z convertible tablet PC is its multi-touch display, a feature present in just-released or soon-to-released offerings from Acer, Dell, Toshiba, and possibly Apple if rumors of its cloaked-in-secrecy tablet are to be believed. The tx2z series already has a built-in niche audience, but will mainstream users want to pay its premium price? [Read Full Review]

LCD monitor prices seem to be on a downward trend right now, with some 28" monitors reaching as low as the $200 range. For a while, Logitech was making mice with relatively unchanging design cues. Their MX500, MX510, MX518, and G5 mice all had the same basic design, albeit with incremental improvements in features. The 15.4" screen size is the bread-and-butter size for most laptop manufacturers, and Dell is no exception. This fact is made even more true when you consider the premium line of notebooks that is the XPS brand. On paper, this monitor sports some decent specs. A 5ms response time means that there is no visible ghosting. The 1000:1 contrast ratio lends itself to deep blacks and bright whites. However, since it uses a TN Panel, the viewing angle is limited, and it cannot display a full complement of colors. Here at BensBargains we often feel compelled to buy the very deals we post. Some products turn out to be everything we expected, while other products fall short of our expectations. Coming into the new year, I was thinking of how to make this site even more useful, and it occurred to me that we can share our own experiences with these products by doing product reviews. These won't be multi-page write-ups that take 30 minutes to read, but rather a concise statement of how the product performed versus our expectations. Feel free to share your opinions in each review discussion, as well as to contact us about products that you'd like to see us tackle.

I was looking for a digital camcorder for some time, but I was unwilling to fork over the dough because I felt that the entire industry was in a transition period with various intermediary and soon-to-be obsolete formats. The future of digital video is in solid state recording and HD video, and the Panasonic Palmcorder HDC-SD5 seemed on paper to fit the bill quite nicely. [Read Full Review]

If you're like most people these days, your point and shoot digital camera is never very far away so that you can capture every memorable moment in excruciating megapixel detail. Image stabilization technology has come a long way to mitigate your shaking hands, but there are some situations where only a tripod will do. [Read Full Review]
