Allow Star Trek LEGOs To Take You Into Darkness

Star Trek Into Darkness is either the second or 12th entry in the franchise.  It’s all a matter of perspective.  As Kirk and crew are once again unleashed upon theater audiences, what better way is there to turn a geeky and critical eye upon the latest and (*gasp* possibly) greatest Star Trek than by viewing the film’s trailer through LEGO-tinted glasses?

There is just one caveat—while Antonio Toscano is quickly making a name for himself with his frame-by-frame LEGO versions of big-budget movie blockbusters like Iron Man, it’s important to keep in mind the gold standard of LEGO movie trailer productions, which just so happened to take place in a galaxy, far, far away.

First, behold, for LEGO Darkness is upon you.

For those keeping track, there’s even a nice side-by-side comparison of the real trailer and Toscano’s LEGO trailer.

Finally, behold once again Jay Silver’s 2002 Brickfest winner, which may have been better than what was to follow in theaters a few years later (aka Episode III: Revenge of the Sith).
