Prime Perk Alert: Amazon now includes unlimited photo storage

By on November 4, 2014

Piling on to the numerous existing perks of Amazon Prime membership, the retailer has rolled out unlimited cloud storage for photos uploaded from iOS and Android mobile devices as well as the line of Kindle tablets. Of course, Prime subscribers can also upload photos directly from their PC or Mac as well (using a drag-and-drop interface).

Prime-Photos

Calling the service Prime Photos, these photos are accessible from Internet-connected mobile devices as well as media set-top boxes, gaming consoles and Smart televisions that are compatible with Amazon’s media applications. Photos are uploaded at the original resolution, thus viewing images on a large, high definition display should appear normal.

This is yet another perk that’s been added to Prime as of the past few months. During mid-June 2014, Amazon added the ability to access Prime Music, a music-streaming service that’s similar to Spotify or Beats Music. While the library is relatively small compared to other services, it’s definitely added value to an arguable worthwhile subscription service.

Of course, Amazon Prime costs $99 a year. A full list of Amazon Prime benefits can be found below:

  • Free 2-day shipping on Amazon’s catalog of products
  • Access to Amazon Instant Video for streaming of TV Shows / Movies / Original Content.
  • 1 free book rental from the Kindle Lending Library each month.
  • 30-minute head start access to Amazon Deals during November.
  • Unlimited streaming music on Amazon Music.
  • Unlimited Cloud storage for photos using Prime Photos.
