^ Where are the decent quality, good value priced receivers made? I suspect the equivalent made in Europe, Japan or the US would run closer to $1000 but frankly I haven't checked.
Much cheaper even quality ones. Check Crutchfield.com. Free install hardware and wire adapters. You don't want to hack on your factory wiring. I got last years Kenwood doubled din dvd revving for $179 shipped refurb. But $225 gets you new units. Don't buy junk.
Regardless of where it's made its all about the design and quality control. Many quality name brands roll out of the same factories as the junk does. If the OEM demands quality they get it from the supplier for a price...
