Did anyone actually get one of these? I placed an order not long after the deal appeared, looked like it went through but never heard anything back until today when I got an email saying they were out-of-stock.

    Freaking

Same thing here, and same for a friend who ordered one too - order went through but got an email the next day saying they were out of stock. Friend went to pick up at a store that had them in stock (he reserved one) and was told it was only available online. A few minutes later went back in to the store and talked to a different salesperson who pulled one from stock, but the cashier had to call an assistant manager to approve the deal (he brought in the paperwork from the online "purchase"), but the same manager showed up and accused him of trying to pull a fast one and told him not to come back. indeed. There used to be consumer protection laws against this sort of practice, but now has become so commonplace whatever laws there are aren't enforced. But the deal was too good to be true. I'll just wait for a good Fry's deal - they honor what they put out there and have really good deals just about every week. And I won't even buy my paper from
    Staples
    from now on.
