I see these at Salvation army and garage sales. Metal conducts heat so it will speeds things up a bit. A combo of the microwave oven on defrost and just setting it out will work too.

This thing's making a comeback! haha. Running under warm water also works. The metal doesn't require any energy like the microwave or water heater.
